A Self Righteous Guy’s Guide to Politics
Don’s testimony (during the much-anticipated “Mueller testimony” before Congress):
Two or three years ago, and maybe even this time last year, a big event like what’s happening in the US Capitol building right now would have had my careful attention all day
And today, out of bad habit, I tuned in to a live broadcast from the scene for a few minutes.
Within about 30 seconds, I caught myself feeling the usual nausea at the usual political self-righteousness I heard (disguised as “questions” from Congress of course).
Then, thanks be to God, I remembered what He has taught me about the source of that nausea: it’s my OWN political self righteousness in action.
So I switched my radio to some awesome worship music on KSBJ, and returned to the work God has called me to do (which includes sharing this testimony with my Facebook friends).
Lord, I pray that each of us in the United States can have a similar soul-saving experience today.
Lets us all remember, Dear God, that “political opinions” is just a euphemism for self-righteousness.

I don’t understand your question. It seems we may not be on the same wavelength. I do not advocate Christians ignoring their government. In fact, “Render unto Ceasar what is Ceasars,” (Sorry. I realize I’m probably spelling Ceasar wrong. :)) commands the opposite, and I am in full support of that Holy notion. But I don’t understand how that relates to all all I’ve written above.
