God’s Patience is Eternal
Today’s reading: John 1:1-5
It’s amazing to me how often I forget God. I’m pretty sure I’ve said those very words in these devotionals several times before.
So why is it that I so often put the world’s priorities ahead of God? Why do I let The World’s work come ahead of these devotionals, for example? (Here it is again, almost midnight. I rushed out of the house at 6:30 a.m., headed to work, and am only just now settling in to write today’s devotional. I had a grand day today, accomplished a lot of stuff, even made a new couple of friends. But I didn’t give God much thought through all of this great stuff. I just took him for granted all day long.)
Those questions are rhetorical. The only reasonable answer: I’ve got to do better for God.
“All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people.” (Verses 3-4)
Thanks be to God for his eternal patience! May I learn from his example!
