God’s Leadership is Always Wise

Today’s reading: Psalm 27

It’s been exciting to watch the audience numbers grow for this site so dramatically since I began these (almost) daily devotional posts less than 6 months ago. Here’s the latest report:

In December, 1,138 different computer systems visited this site. For February, that number was 1,801. In April it was 4,604. And, so far in May (with still 4 days left), the site has hosted 7,186 computer systems!

Wow.

I’ve done no promotion for these articles other than to just post links each day on my Facebook page.  The audience growth is all because of people like you, dear reader, telling others about my writing.

I still get very little feedback about these articles, so I’m not sure whether most people are impressed or depressed by what I have to say. But it’s exciting to know that people are reading, nevertheless.

Okay, wait. Confession time. “Excited” probably isn’t the word I should be tossing around. Actually, I’m nervous about all this.

Plenty of questions are roaring through my head:

Is it really okay for me, a guy who has never taken a  Bible course, to be spouting all these highfalutin’ interpretations?  Can my ideas withstand criticism from those who know scripture much better than me? What will I do when feedback finally does start coming in, and not all of it is supportive? Is all of this the beginning of a ministry? If so, where do I go from here? Am I in danger of promising more than I can deliver on this site?

Fortunately all of these questions are answered with the last line of today’s reading:

“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” (Verse 14)

I have no idea where this is headed. But I know God is in control of it.

So I’ll just wait. I know He’ll give me the direction I need, exactly when I need it.

In the meantime, I guess I am excited after all. God is always good.

Thanks be to God for His eternal wisdom. May I (and we) always be willing to wait for it.
