Comma Rules

The most common problem in regard to commas is, well, writers just toss them in any ole’ place. For no real reason. And they do that because they are very confused about the basic structures of the English sentence.

Unfortunately, there’s not an easy fix to that. A deeper understanding of the language is necessary. It’s as simple, and as frustrating, as that.

Your best bet is to hire a tutor (me for example :)) to work with you individually on comma rules. But, if you want to go it alone, there are many websites that list the various comma rules. If you think you can understand the rules thoroughly on your own, by all means give it a shot.

If you understand English thoroughly, commas are fairly simple. But most people don’t understand English as well as they think they do.
